    The BVIU BrainSTEPS Team will host their annual training on February 20, 2015, from 8:30 - 2:00. This year, our goal is to train student leaders who will return to their districts and train other students. Send a team of students from your high school to Empowering Student Leaders: Promoting the Awareness of Head Injuries (A Train-the-Trainer Workshop).  Our featured speaker is Dr. Vanessa Fazio of the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program.   • Crisis Prevention Training

    Does your building still need crisis team training? Perhaps you have new staff who have not yet had the training. Send a small group to learn effective de-escalation skills, personal safety techniques and safe physical restraints. You will leave better prepared to intervene in a behavioral crisis. This is a 9 hour training over two days, March 19 & 20 or April 30 & May 1. Click here for details and registration. Cost is $30 and includes workbook and lunch on day 1.
